Differences Among Us
Once together, now apart,
Ripped away from the heart.
Only because of their color,
That separates them from the other.
Alone before, without friends,
Waiting until the world ends.
But together they are strong,
And no longer do any wrong.
For when they all act as one,
Something wonderful has begun.
A unknown feeling is now made,
That will never, ever, ever fade.

Great poem! You really pulled off the rhyming well, without taking away from the meaning. I really like your interpretation of the art, and how your last few lines give the impression of a kind of "world community".
ReplyDeleteThis was a cool poem. It took me a while to see what it means, but I get the racial stuff from the line about color. good job.
